End of Our Rope

And the Angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud went from before them and stood behind them.  So it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. Thus it was a cloud and darkness to the one, and it gave light by night to the other, so that the one did not come near the other all that night. Exodus 14:19-20

I continue to be amazed at the pillar of cloud God provided for the children of Israel and the part it played in their survival, as I dive a little more specifically into the parting of The Red Sea. Before & while The Red Sea was parting, God sent His Angel and the pillar of cloud between the Egyptian Army and the children of Isreal.  The cloud provided light to the Israelites and darkness to the Egyptian Army and acted as a barrier to keep the 2 camps apart.  That’s exciting, isn’t it? God’s provision is way beyond our ability to reason or understand. He never does a thing how we think He’s going to do a thing. God’s way is higher, bigger, better, and more powerful than our way.

He made it easy for the Israelites to move forward. He took away every other option available to them. They were either going to move forward or die. They didn’t have any other choice or option.

Sometimes in our own lives, we come to the end of our rope. We run out of options. We are left with no other choice than to trust Him. We seem like heroes. We decide to put our trust in Him, when the truth is, that’s all we can do. There is simply no other option.
